The Aligned Flow® Approach
The 200-Hour YTT Aligned Flow® Yoga Teacher Training is rooted in creating a deep experiential understanding of the practice. This foundation gives you the ability to connect with your students authentically and to hold an inclusive, safe space for them to come home to themselves. The Aligned Flow® physical practice combines Iyengar inspired alignment with the heating, flowing-with-the-breath sequencing which comes from the Vinyasa style. This method begins with Anatomy and Essential Actions, using props as tools applied to modify and vary each posture to support individual needs. Clear alignment cues and Intelligent Sequencing support you in finding your voice as a teacher as you weave the deeper themes of philosophy into your personal and teaching practice.
Yoga is meant to be applied to life, and in the true spirit of the word has the ability to unite and yoke us together. In this training, through a study of the practice and through the deeper work of Svadhyaya (self-study), you will gain confidence in sharing your passion and experience with your future students.

What is Aligned Flow®?
I began practicing Yoga while in massage school. I had sought out massage in order to learn more about the ways we hold tension (emotional, mental, physical) in our bodies. Yoga became the place where I learned how to apply all that I was learning about anatomy, physiology, and the tension I palpated in my clients’ bodies, to my own. Through that lens, I studied several styles of Yoga, Contemplative and Somatic practices, and Energy and Bodywork, and have spent much of my career working with Athletes. The understanding I have gained from these things became the foundation of Aligned Flow®.
Physically the style is a blend of the Iyengar inspired Alignment I studied with my teacher Maty Ezraty with flowing-with-the-breath movement that I love.
This method is also inspired by:
*Verse 2.46 from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali : Sthira- sukham asanam. This teaching is often translated as: “Yoga is a posture that brings about steadiness and ease.” Strength and ease seem to be opposites, but relate to one other to create balance. I believe that balance is an ongoing relationship between moving parts, not a static state to be achieved. This is one of the foundations of Aligned Flow®.
This living relationship is one worth experiencing and exploring. It helps us find health and vibrancy in our own lives and relate to others from a place of authenticity and curiosity throughout our lives.
*The miracle of our bodies to self heal. Our bodies are always searching to create homeostasis. When we go too far in one direction, our bodies will often self correct. Sometimes this shows up in inuries, postural imbalances , or discomfort. Aligned Flow® offers tools to observe bodies, make postural assessments and gives a practical understanding of the use of props in yoga to support individuals in self healing.
Christy Naida Linson is an E-RYT500 and YACEP through Yoga Alliance, a licensed massage therapist (LMT), an Integrative Health Coach, and a Human Design Reader. She began practicing Yoga in 1999 while attending massage school in Maui, HI. Her curiosity about the mind-body connection and love for beautiful places led her to study Contemplative and Somatic Psychology and Traditional Eastern Arts at Naropa University in Boulder, CO. She completed her 200 and 300 hour Yoga teacher trainings at YogaWorks in NYC and has been blessed to study with many incredible teachers including Helena Berg, Nataraja Kallio, Maty Ezraty, and Janet Stone.
She is blessed to own and run Prana Yoga Center in Denville, NJ with her sister, direct the Aligned Flow® 200 and 300 hour teacher trainings, and lead retreats in beautiful places. Her massage practice began by working with professional windsurfers and surfers in Hawaii and has included athletes of many backgrounds over the years including 7 years with the NY Jets. She is a life-long student always in the middle of several books. She loves: being warm, wandering, taking notes, improvising recipes, and is an enthusiastic aunt to her one, very loved niece.
“Christy has created an extremely comprehensive curriculum. Her passion and dedication for both teaching and practicing yoga comes through in both the written text and in the practical training. Not only has she created a nurturing space for growth and education, she empowers her students to fill that space with their own experiences and understandings. Aligned Flow places a strong emphasis on experiential learning. It’s through this focus that the daunting areas of anatomy & physiology, Sanskrit, and Asana profiles were able to be absorbed and truly learned by each of us. If you are seeking to understand yoga as a practice to share with yourself and others, it is with great enthusiasm that I recommend the Aligned Flow YTT program! I look forward to the continued contribution of Aligned Flow® to the yoga community!” -Shawn Weiss
“Christy teaches her students so much more than the Yoga Alliance requirements. Her knowledge base is so vast. I have never been so proud to have graduated from a rigorous program.” –Meghan McNamara
“The YTT from Aligned Flow® with Christy was simply amazing. it exceeded my expectations in so many levels. At first I thought that it would be simply an opportunity to enhance and deepen my own practice (which totally did) but by the end of the training I felt ready and so pumped to actually teach and start my career in the yoga world. Most importantly I feel prepared to do so. Christy is really knowledgeable and so kind and patient with all the students. The group we had was also so diverse. I believe everyone gained a lot from that. It helped us understand so many different needs and I feel it gave us a real sample of what real world will be like. I would strongly recommend this training to anyone who is looking for an amazing 6 months spent with great people and an amazing teacher. it will change your life FOREVER! Your yoga practice will never be the same.” – Priscila Pires
"Christy Linson rules!!! I have been practicing as Christy's student for 6 years. In those six years I have learned so much from her and the teacher training elevated my Yoga practice to a new level. The program was a well thought out and Christy gave tremendous effort making sure every student was attended to. I know and believe if I had enrolled in any other training program I would not have received the same value this program offered. (You can edit this first sentence if you like. I know it may not be good for a testimonial or maybe It could be. I do think you rule!)" - Michael Keenaghan
